Harley Davis Webb, Jr. was born on February 15, 1926, in Waxahachie, TX, and raised in Houston, TX. After graduating high school in 1942, he attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. His college education was briefly interrupted as he served in the U.S. Armed Forces from 1943 to 1946. Following his service, Harley returned to Texas Christian University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce in 1948. Throughout his life, he remained dedicated to his community, serving as president of the Fort Worth Optimist Club.
Shortly after graduation, Harley partnered with a colleague to purchase the assets of Builders Hardware, later incorporating the business as Henderson and Webb, Inc. By late 1955, Harley sold his interest in the partnership and ventured out to build his own legacy.
